Lobby day for UNA-USA & United Nations Foundation – in Washington DC.  I was part of the New York delegation, we had fantastic meetings with Senator Gillibrand’s staff as well as Congressional staff – Gibson, Jeffries, Meng, Nadler, etc.  Advocating that the US Congress fund US peacekeeping and regular budget dues, provide robust refugee support through the UN refugee agency UNHCR and the UN Education Cannot Wait Fund, and work with the UN to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.  SDGs on Clean Energy and Smart Cities are key for fighting climate change.  It is critical that we deploy renewable energy and energy efficient technologies, transferring intellectual property, capacity, and financial resources from the developed countries, especially in the US and EU, to the developing countries, especially in Africa, to build climate resilience.
